ABOUT BAF

Bangalore Apartments’ Federation (BAF) is a federation representing the interests of residents of apartments and villa communities across Bengaluru. More than 1,250 apartment and villa resident welfare associations (RWAs) are members of BAF representing nearly 300,000 households with close to one and a half million citizens either residing or working within these communities. BAF encourages and supports its members through various initiatives on water conservation, waste management, energy efficiency, green mobility etc. For many years, BAF has actively engaged with the Government of Karnataka, elected representatives, various departments and civic agencies in order to facilitate and support various policies and measures that positively impact the residents of apartments in particular and citizens of Bengaluru in general.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The program manager is responsible for successful implementation of Programs & initiatives proposed by the BAF GC (Governing Council) by efficiently utilizing the resources allocated within agreed timelines.

The Program manager is responsible for :
  • Creating and implementing program plans and schedules 
    • Advanced planning of programs schedules and pipeline (The tentative program calendar for the year is already available – Prepared by BAF Program Pioneers team) 
    • Assessing and alerting a program’s pros and cons 
    • Office support as requested by Program teams based on calendar events 
    •  Reporting progress on projects 
  • Managing workforce and resource allocation 
    • Coordinate with Treasurer to ensure that programs are executed within the budget 
    •  Work with Sponsors for long-term and event related sponsorships 
    • Stock keeping and re-order of BAF assets in use at various programs 
    • Organising basic support at venue through team members such as participants’ registration - provision of stationery etc at events 
    • Managing BAF staff/employees effectively 
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges 
    • Identify the challenges related to programs and initiatives in advance and alert the respective teams in BAF 
  • Communicating and collaborating with stakeholders 
    • Backend support including reminders via emails/calls, data collection, couriering of certificates, documents, mementos to people as directed by Program leader and tracking and reporting of deliveries. 
    • Coordinate with social media (SM) team in advance so that SM team can generate right content 
    • Monthly Newsletter/Highlights Video creation (with Help of Social Media Team) 
    • Working with BAF solutions Squad team to coordinate for social media communications 
  • Coordinating with partners & vendors (if necessary) related to the program 
    • To define what work to be done by BAF and What work will be done by partner 
    •  Identify the program needs from BAF side 
    •  Execute the program smoothly  

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Languages: 
    •  Proficient English written and spoken skills are mandatory. 
    • Proficient Spoken kannada is essential. Written Kannada would be an additional advantage. 
  • The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
  • Paying attention to details while understanding the vision of BAF 
  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes 
  • Budget management and resource allocation
  • Good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties
  • Flexible work schedules: Ability to work on weekends as most of our programs and events happen on weekends. 
 Administratively the Program manager will report to: Pradeep Pai and General Secretary 

COMPENSATION & WORK RELATED ASPECTS
  • Salary: Rs. 50,000/- 
  • Saturday and Sunday would be working days most of the time. Appropriate weekdays can be taken as a compensatory weekend leave 
  • Situation based compensatory leave for the additional days/hours worked 
  • Casual leave - 8 days - per calendar year 
  • Sick leave - 8 days - per calendar year 
  • Health Insurance on reimbursement basis upto 12000 rs per calendar year. An Employee is free to choose their health insurance policy (including family members). 
  • Accident insurance: Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) by the Government to provide accidental insurance cover. PMSBY provides accidental death/disability insurance cover of Rs. 2 Lakhs
